Self Portrait

Here’s a self portrait I’ve been working on to go along with my bio/about page. The black and white version is the original, then I colorized it and added my drawing from a few days ago to the background on photoshop. What do you think?

I used black pen, sumi ink, and white conte crayon.

new drawing

Just finished a new drawing..

Here it is hand colored:

And here is the pre-colored black & white version:

I also played around with the color a bit on photoshop and made these two simple variations (among others):

enjoy!

owl iphone case

Remember the owl drawing I did a few weeks back? Well, my wonderful sister (Amira) made it into an iphone case for me!

pop-ups and anniversaries

Today we’re celebrating my parents’ 32nd wedding anniversary- I didn’t make them a card this year, but I thought I’d share some old ones..

I made this pop-up card for their 24th. It was pretty much my first and last stab at paper cutting, which I’d love to do more of, but would need the proper tools and a whole set of skills I don’t yet have.

This next card may have been an anniversary card or for something else- all i know is that it was for my parents, so I guess it fits with this post..

Also mildly related- we’re having a party at our house this evening and we used my postcards as invitations.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Hand Colored Lithograph

I added some color to one of my black and white lithos:

Here’s the original:

I think I’ll do a few other variations sometime soon.

a few more black & white drawings

Thanks everyone for the feedback on my last drawing. I’m still undecided, but it seems the majority of you like option 2, the one with a purple/pink background, so i’m adding that one to my gallery.

Here are a few more black & white drawings for your viewing pleasure:

Which version do you like better?

First, let me say HAPPY FATHERS DAY to all the dads out there.

Second, which version do you like better?

Drawings Added to Gallery

My wonderful sister, Amira, has asked me to scan a few of my old drawings for some unspecified project of hers that she won’t tell me about. So, I’ve dug into the depths of my giant overflowing folder of drawings (that I really ought to devise a safer storage method for) and begun scanning some of her old favorites. I thought I’d share a few here:
