HOOT’s April issue is here!

Zana Bass_Hoot-issue-31-no-border-cymk-webHOOT’s April issue is here! …and along with poetry by Christine Potter, it features my artwork. You can read all about HOOT, the {mini} literary magazine on a postcard, on HOOT’s website as well as browse past print issues. Among these, you’ll find others I’ve worked on and many other beautiful postcards thanks to HOOT’s talented Art Director, Amanda Vacharat, who has an amazing skill for combining text and image on each issue.

Check out HOOT’s shop to subscribe or buy postcards.

HOOT Happenings in December

HOOT

Don’t forget to check out HOOT‘s December online and print issues! Also, having trouble thinking of a good holiday gift for a literature lover? A subscription to HOOT will remind them of you all year long! You can even send a single issue of HOOT as a holiday card with a personalized message.

Also this month, HOOT kick started a kickstarter campaign to get our owl mascot screen printed on t-shirts. These shirts will help us raise money for our nonprofit literary magazine. Take a look at the campaign for more info!

October’s HOOT is already here!

Go check out October’s print and online editions of HOOT, the mini literary magazine on a post card! This month’s print edition was designed by my esteemed colleague (and best friend!), Amanda Vacharat, who has a great new website of her own up and running.

September’s issue of HOOT hitting mailboxes now!

Check out my artwork on the September issue of HOOT, the {mini} literary magazine on a postcard. The online issue is pretty cool too!

Also, don’t forget to enter my giveaway by commenting on the original post before September 8 at 4PM (EST) to win a print of “Macaw.”

HOOT written up by Geekadelphia

Geekadelphia just posted about HOOT (the literary magazine on postcard). They included an image of the postcard I designed for HOOT’s May issue- check out the post!

And, while going back in time to subscribe to HOOT is worthy of the Tardis (as Geekadelphia implies), you can just get all of their back issues here (their Etsy shop) and subscribe in time to receive July’s issue in the mail! Save the Tardis for something else- like witnessing Socrates drinking his hemlock, meeting Sitting Bull, or jumping to the future to find out what the Singularity is all about.

HOOT and Henna, Take 2

This time I’m announcing it beforehand!

I will be joining the HOOT team this Sunday at Art for the Cash Poor 13– there will be henna, HOOT, and many many postcards (and lets not forget {mini} literature). Plus lots of other interesting artists worth checking out.

Sunday, June 10, 2012 from noon until 6 pm at the Crane Building (1400 N. American Street). Come and find us!

Henna and HOOT at the Collingswood May Fair

Hey, Everyone! (Amanda, that means you). Hope you had a great Memorial Day Weekend! I joined HOOT in New Jersey for the Collingswood May Fair on Saturday.

It was a day of excitement as we got the word out about HOOT while also adorning people with henna- we thought the alliteration was enough of a connection, and in case it wasn’t, we added a few owls to our repertoire.

Perhaps next time I’ll announce it before I go to a fair. Keep tuned!

Check out HOOT!

If you haven’t already, you should check out HOOT. It’s a mini literary magazine on a postcard (I know, great idea!). Each print issue features a short poem or story under 150 words paired with artwork.

In general, it’s well worth reading, but on top of that the most recent issue (May) features my own artwork- so go over to HOOT and take a look!
